Jaws of Life Remove Man From Newer Corvette After Major Accident With Pick Up Truck
Red Corvette Mangled By Truck On Costa Mesa 55 Freeway – A large pick-up truck mangled a newer red corvette yesterday in a major car accident that happened on the 55 fwy in Costa Mesa, trapping the driver of the automobile in his vehicle. The Orange County Fire Department had to use all of it’s resources and the jaws of life to save the man and remove him from his automobile.
The truck vs car accident landed the truck on top of the corvette after the crash. The accident happened after 5:00 p.m. in the rush hour commute, causing all lanes to be shut down during a Sig Alert. California Highway Patrol diverted the gridlocked freeway drivers around the accident just before 7:00 p.m.
The driver if the corvette was transported to the local hospital trauma center for treatment of his personal injuries suffered in the car accident. His condition has not yet been revealed, and he remains hospitalized this morning.
The freeway car crash that trapped the driver in his car was near the 22nd Street ramp and the Victoria Street exit. As of this morning, traffic accident investigators are trying to piece together the details of what happened. Witnesses are asked to contact the Orange County CHP with any details about who caused the crash.
