Overturned Tanker Truck Crash Halted Locals And Commuters Alike
ONTARIO, CA (May 11, 2016) – A propane tanker truck overturned on the eastbound 10 freeway at Milliken Avenue in Ontario on Wednesday morning, bringing traffic to a halt for nearly 3 hours. California Highway Patrol first received a call reporting the crash at about 5:30 am on Wednesday, just in time for the morning commute.
Early reports indicate that one person was injured in the crash but the extent of their injuries was unclear. Later, incident reports stated that the injured person was able to walk to the top of the Milliken Avenue off ramp to await help from ambulance services who had been called to the scene of the semi truck accident. Due to the severity of the accident, eastbound traffic was diverted onto Haven Avenue.
After heavy delays for both eastbound and westbound traffic, emergency crews were able to right the propane tanker at around 8:30 am and all lanes were reopened shortly thereafter. While there were some initial concerns about a possible propane leak, California Highway Patrol later reported that there is no concern over a possible hazmat situation at this time. While the exact cause of propane tanker turnover in Ontario is still unknown, anyone who may have suffered injuries may be able to seek monetary compensation to pay for injuries associated with the incident.
