Car Cuts Off Motorcyclist On Friday Evening Causing Fatal South Los Angeles Accident
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 13, 2016) – Los Angeles Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Friday Night – A two-vehicle crash in South Los Angeles left a motorcyclist dead on Friday night. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the accident took place around 6:09 p.m. in rush hour traffic near the intersection of West Slauson Avenue and West Vermont Avenue.
The 52-year-old motorcycle driver was apparently traveling eastbound on West Slauson Avenue when the driver of the second vehicle made a left turn in front of him, striking the bike. Ambulance services were called to the scene and rushed the injured motorcyclist to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, the 52-year-old man was unable to recover from his injuries. According to the coroner’s office, the name of the victim is still pending release until the next-of-kin can be contacted. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene, but it is unclear as to whether they suffered any injuries or if they were cited at the scene.
While it seems as if the accident is still under investigation by police, rush hour traffic is one of the most dangerous times to drive in the greater Los Angeles area. The combination of dense traffic, distracted driving and aggressive driving can prove to be very dangerous and often leads to a collision.
