It was concluded that the victim was driving in the eastbound lane of SR 166 in his newer Peterbilt rig when he crossed into the oncoming lanes and stuck three trucks driving in the westbound lane. The speed that he was driving is unknown. The crash caused the fuel tank to rupture, causing a fire that was extinguished quickly by County Fire.
