Car Strikes Orange County Teen Causing Fatal Injuries – A teen was killed when he was hit by a car on the sidewalk yesterday morning in Orange County, California. The car accident victim, a 16 year old named Austin Caldera, was walking to his job during the morning commuting hour, when a vehicle jumped onto the sidewalk and crashed into the pedestrian, who later died at UCI Medical Center.
The vehicle vs pedestrian fatal car accident happened on Beach Blvd in Stanton, after the vehicle careened into the pedestrian on the sidewalk. The OC Sheriff's shut down the roadway for several hours Wednesday morning as they investigated the tragic car crash that fatally injured the pedestrian, a minor, as he walked.
OC Traffic Investigators are still working on the case. As of this morning, they have no suspicion that the driver of the car at fault in the accident was either under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The family of the victim awaits the answers, as the traffic accident report is being prepared. Once the investigation is complete, the fatal pedestrian traffic collision report will be available.
The mother of the victim, J. Taylor, learned that the boy was declared deceased after being treated at the hospital in Orange, California. Lieutenant S. Ostash with the Orange County Sheriff's Department indicated that the suspect car jumped on to the sidewalk, and that the reason for the incident was “unknown.” The victim was from Anaheim, and was a high schooler at Savanna High School. His mother wrote that her son was a very happy and helpful young teenager.
The victim was always walking to school and work, according to his mother. The mother was always worried that he might get hit by a car while walking. The boy died from his injuries shortly after the fatal collision.
