GLENDALE, CA (JUNE 22, 2016) – LAPD car crash closes 210 Freeway in Glendale – The 210 Freeway in Glendale, California was shut down temporarily last night due to a multiple car accident. The crash involved at least five vehicles, including one Los Angeles Police Department cruiser.

The LAPD stated that the car wreck forced the closure of all of the lanes going east. This caused a Sig-Alert to be issued to the public.  Vehicles driving on the freeway were inconvenienced for approximately 2-3 hours while investigators gathered the facts involving the 5 car accident.

The Los Angeles PD officer was injured during the multi car collision, and he was treated at a local hospital for his injuries from the car crash. It is unknown whether any other motorists, either drivers or passengers in the other vehicles, were injured.  The lanes were shut down at Lowell Avenue in Glendale, and traffic was slowed from La Tuna Canyon. The freeway was opened just before 1:00 a.m. today, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident investigators are still trying to piece together the details.
