District Attorney To Charge Dennis Rodman With Felony Hit And Run

District Attorney To Charge Dennis Rodman With Felony Hit And Run – Former superstar basketball player Dennis Rodman is set to be charged by the Orange County District Attorney's Office with Felony Hit-and-Run as well as driving the wrong way on the Santa Ana Freeway, after causing a car accident in the carpool lane last month.

The Orange County traffic investigators with the California Highway Patrol have concluded their investigation, and have concluded that Rodman was the driver of the white Range Rover that caused the crash on July 20, 2016 in Santa Ana, California. The victim of serious personal injury damages was driving southbound in the 5 freeway in the carpool lane when Rodman's SUV came straight towards it, causing the victim to veer out of the way and hit the center median.  After the crash, Rodman came back to the scene, but failed to share his personal information, as required by law.

The DA's Office is reviewing the report for the filing of charges for Vehicle Code section 20002(a), Felony Hit & Run. There is no indication yet of whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. Rodman fled the scene and was not questioned after the accident, because authorities could not initially locate him. He had a very brief conversation with the victim before he escaped the scene.  CHP relied on Rodman's representatives to arrange an interview.
