Monday Afternoon Huntington Beach Road Rage Incident Hospitalizes Family – A road rage car accident in Huntington Beach, California sent seven people to the hospital Monday afternoon, according to Huntington Beach Fire Department Capt. Eric McCoy. A man in an SUV crashed into a minivan carrying a family of six, and the Traffic Accident Investigators are calling it an act of road rage. The violent car accident forced the van into a tree and sent all of the people inside the vehicles to local hospitals with a multitude of injuries, according to authorities.
The incident started when the driver of the SUV is suspected to have driven his automobile into another vehicle at 2:30 p.m. on July 10 at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Bolsa Chica Road. The man then fled the accident scene, going eastbound on Warner, went over the wash, losing control of his automobile, and crashed directly into the minivan.
The driver of the SUV had to be pried out of his automobile, treated at the scene and was transported to the hospital. The driver and all five passengers in the minivan were treated by paramedics at the scene and then taken to local hospitals, according to McCoy. Two of the seven people involved in the serious car accident were transported to Orange County trauma centers, said McCoy. The Huntington Beach Police Traffic Accident Investigators are still investigating the facts of the collision.
Facts are scant about the vehicle that was first hit by the SUV before crashing into the family in the minivan. The identities of the people involved in this accident have not yet been released.
