Auto Accident in West Covina on the I-10 westbound results in Death of two Drivers
WEST COVINA, CA (MAY 27, 2016) – Car Crash on West Covina 10 Freeway Causes Multiple Deaths – A fiery multiple car crash shut down all westbound traffic on the 10 Freeway in West Covina early Friday morning, leaving 2 drivers dead.
According to California Highway Patrol, two people were killed in the crash that took place around 1:00 am just east of Circus Street. A total of 5 cars were involved in the deadly car accident including a semi truck that was pulling a container, a Lexus SUV, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Tacoma and an Audi. Authorities revealed that 3 of the 5 vehicles burst into flames, trapping one of the drivers inside the wreckage.
The driver of the Audi and the driver of the Toyota Tacoma were both fatality injured in the mutli-car crash. Paramedics pronounced both men dead at the scene. A third woman was also injured in the crash, suffering burns on her left arm and shoulder. Her injuries were described as moderate and she is being treated in a nearby hospital. California Highway Patrol was forced to shut down all westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway to investigate the crash and clear the roadway. A SigAlert was issued and later canceled at 5:14 am.
